My Uber Average Life: What the f*ck have I been up to?!

So as average and boring as I claim my life to be, I have actually been quite busy.

1.
Uni.
Uni is uni. Uni is hard (TWSS) and stressful and too much.
Next year I'm going part time.
At least right now I am pretty much on holidays, save for the only exam I have on November 22.
2.
I quit my job at the newsagency.
I really loved the people, but it was just getting too hard to do work as well as uni and family life, and my health was starting to suffer.
So, I quit.
In hindsight it was stupid but my education and my health had to come first.

3.
Prac.
The babies were so adorable.
I got really attached.
It's made me really clucky.

4.
I dyed my hair.
It was a disaster.
Then an even bigger disaster.
Then it worked out.
Basically, I bought a blonde hair dye that's made for dark brown hair, which is my natural colour.
My line of thinking was that if I went blonde and then put a red over the top then I would get the type of red coloured hair I have always wanted.
So the blonde went in and it worked, but it was uneven.
And the very top of my head was yellow, the ends darker.
So then I put in the red.
In the pictures I took, it looks good.
Very Hayley Williams.
Real life? I looked like the tip of a highlighter pen.
It was orange and I was officially a ranga.
I had to wait until my mum got home from work the next morning and send her out for a darker red, which I Googled for because I did not have the lady balls to go out in public looking like a highlighter.
Thank GOD, it worked and my hair looked fabulous.

5.
I cut my own fringe.
I haven't had a trim for a year now and my side bangs had completely grown out.
I wanted them back but couldn't afford to get a haircut.
Actually, that's a lie; mostly I just couldn't be arsed to go.
So I cut it myself, with the intention of giving myself an Emma Stone in Easy A-esque fringe.
Yeh, no.
It was too short and uneven.
It looked like crap.
Luckily, I had a brainwave and decided to just flip my part.
It worked and now I look fabulous.

6.
I got a new job.
Nothing major, and it only lasts for another 6 weeks, but I'm tutoring Sri Lankan kids at my mum's school who don't speak a lot of English. It's only six hours a week, but it's better than nothing.

7.
I'm housesitting in a penthouse right on the Brisbane River in the heart of the city.
I think that's pretty self-explanatory.

8.
My little brother is turning 18 at the end of the month.
We're throwing him a party.
I'm excited :)

9.
Christmas is getting closer.
This year I'm actually excited.
Last year I was, but not as much.
I told my brother my mum's decorating looked like Santa threw up all over the house.
Yeh, I was a little bit of a Grinchy bitch.
But it was the first Christmas without seeing my dad, I think I was allowed to be like that.
Anyway, this year I am super-excited and cannot wait to start shopping for presents and making cards!

So, that's pretty much everything.
I'll be putting up a pic of my faaaabulous new hair very soon!

I am so sorry, darlings!
I feel lke the most pathetic blogger that ever existed. Boo.
I just, quite literally, have NO SOCIAL LIFE at the moment.
Seriously, I got to uni, I Tweet, Tumblr and Facebook, I work (when my boss so kindly gives me pathetic, pitiful, not-even-worth-my-time hours), I do assignments and I sleep.
There's really not much time for anything in between.
And it makes me sad, but I love this blog and I really don't wanna post any old crap here, just to make a post.
Good news is, I have a week's midsemester break in a fortnight so hopefully I should be able to actually do stuff then. Sounds good, right?
I kinda wanna try and get a new tattoo if money permits, so we'll see...!

I started reading The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins.
It. Is. Friggin'. Ah.may.zing.
Like, whoa.
I bought the books online and they have been sitting on my shelves for a fortnight, waiting for me to find time to read them.
Sunday morning rolled around and since I had nothing planned for the day, I started book one.
Um, wow.
The series is SO good.
The characters are amazing and the themes throughout really make you think.
I read the first two books on Sunday and Monday in less than 36 hours.
It's the quickest I've ever read any book.
I picked up the third and final book of the series, Mockingjay this morning and am aaaaaaching to start it.
If you haven't read it, you must.

Hello, darling ones!

How are we all this weekend?

I am faaaabulous!

My week has been pretty good, very busy, but not the kind of busy where you're stressed to the max and in grave danger of developing a stomach ulcer and sprouting numerous grey hairs.

This was a cruisy, busy week.

Monday I was supposed to have prac but I was feeling and little crap so I called in sick.

I've had this horrible on-off sore throat and grotty nose/cough combo happening for literally the past three weeks.
It's also given me this really ~~sexy~~ gravelly voice.
As one ~~skanky~~ Ms Paris Hilton would say, "that's hot!"

It's getting to be a giant pain in the ass.

At the moment it's more tickly throat that makes me cough, which is actually probably more annoying.
Also, my mum's cousin and her husband had their second bub!
A little boy named Nathaniel, with Nate for short.
He is pretty much presh.
Can't wait to meet him, whenever that may be!

Tuesday was an all-dayer at uni.

9 'til 4.30.

Oy.

I hate those days.

Thankfully, it seems to go fairly fast, even though the three hours straight of lectures is a total bitch to get through.

Wednesday it was the Ekka holiday and all three of us (mother, brother and I) had neither work nor uni so we went for a drive out to Cleveland and had a look at the markets there.
Guess what?
I drove!
It was awesome.
I felt SO comfortable with it, even though I'd never driven for that long at once before (it's about half an hour each way).

Thursday was work.
Eight-and-a-half-hours of work.
I've never worked that long before.
I was completely buggered by the end of it, but it went pretty fast which is always good.

Friday was work again.
Except this time it was better: I actually had fun!
Worked with some really lovely people which makes it all the much better.
Lots of laughs and chatting, even though we got told off by the boss for chatting.
(Hello, it was almost closing time, there was nothing to do!)
Friday night there bus effed up.
Again.
I swear the public transport system here is just a useless piece o' crap.
The buses are NEVER on time.
Anywho. Rant over.
(You should've heard my internal cursing Friday night. It would probably give a nun a heart attack.)

And that brings us to today, Saturday.
It was an early work start, 7.30 but holy Jesus did it fly by!
I also tackled the dreaded (by me) Gateway Bridge.
I suppose it's not actually that scary, but when they're doing a shit-tonne of road works to it and you've never driven through road works before, let alone on a busy stretch of road?
Yah, it's pretty daunting.
I did well.
Actually, of all the things I could be angrily gestured at by a police officer for, it was for going too friggin' slow.
Uh, pick your battles, douche bag!
Excuuuuse me for not wanting to run up the arse of the car in front of me.
Anyways.
I also shopped after work.
I spent far too much money (a little over $100) but I got some nice things.
2 dresses and some bits 'n' bobs from (where else?) Diva!
And so now I'm sitting here, at 10.03pm Saturday night wearing an apron and singing along ~~beautifully~~ to Adam Lambert's Whadaya Want From Me, waiting for my cupcakes to bake.
Getting my Betty Crocker on whilst singing and shaking my booty around the kitch is pretty much my most favourite thing to do.
Ever.
EVER.
Oh yeh, my favourite aunty is coming to visit tomorrow.
I flove her!

I also flove Kylie Minogue's All The Lovers.
I have been listening to it on repeat.
Obsessed!

I also flove the flovely Kacey of Sweden for emailing me what can only be described as an #EPIC email of all her favourite songs.
I LOVE to share music with people.

And I also flove Jess, Crystal, Kat, Jess Wink, who are my darling Twitter/bloggy friends.
They are pretty much awesome.
And also some of the floveliest people you will ever know.

Uni + work + bills + textbooks - limited work hours x home life = STRESS!

So I started semester two of uni this week.

It's been... well, to say stressful may be an understatement.

It's certainly going to be a rough 3 months; the sheer amount of assignment work alone is going to be enough to give me grey hairs and stomach ulcers.

This time I'm really going to have to get my arse into gear and make sure I actually do the prep and stop procrastinating and not leave everything until the last minute!

In other news, my work is shit.

They've given me a whopping five hours of work this week, which will literally leave me with $10 after my car payment.

Luckily, I've got a bit of savings put away.

I've been quite good at saving recently, although I have purchased a few things lately.

I purchased The Hunger Games by Suzanna Collins and Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

I have heard brilliant things about these books and am SO excited to read them!

(I also still have Water For Elephants to get through!)

I also bought the cutest black beret with a little cream bow attached to it from Diva's new Miss D collection and some really lovely cushions for my bed! I got five for $30!

There's two purple suede ones, two purple satin ones and a silver satin one.

So I'm going to spend this weekend cleaning my room so I can show you it!

I only just realised yesterday that I never ended up showing you my new bed that I got back earlier in the year.

Yup, I'm a slacker.

Anywho! Since I have to be up at 5.30am tomorrow morning, have a two hour lecture and then work for five hours, I should probably start getting redy for bed.

Stuff I have been doing (and buying)...

Oh haiiiiiii there ladies and unicorns!

Why yes, I have been a slack arse blogger as of late.

My dear RL friend and fellow blogger Kas even pointed this fact out to me in what may have been the sweetest random Facebook wall post ever.
So, I am rectifying my vast lack of blogginess with some new blogginess!

The main reason for the lack of regular posts is my regular lack of inspiration.
I've actually had quite a few things I could have blogged about, I just wasn't feeling inspired to blog about it.
Some may call it laziness and procrastination, but I think uninspired sounds better ;)

So now I shall attempt to catch you up on alllllll the shit goin' down in my life.
(Yes, I'm swearing more here now. It's who I am. Just go with it...)

1.
I saw Eclipse.
Yes, I have already mentioned this and posted a quasi-non-review, but I don't care, I'm still mentioning it again.
Then I saw it again the very next afternoon with my cousin Brittney.
I love her; even though there's almost five years between us (she's 16 in October), we have always been really, really close and able to talk freely to each other about pretty much everything.
Seriously, I probably tell her more personal thoughts and feelings than I do my friends and possibly even my mum.
Anywho, back to the point: we saw Eclipse.
We loved it.
We swooned.
The next week I went with uni friend Michelle (we love her, she's great value; example - after Jake kisses Bella on the mountain, he tells her he has to go, to which Michelle leaned over and whispered to me "yeh, cos he's got a boner!!" I may have died laughing.) and her little brother Sam.
He loved it. He's awesome.
Then I went for the fourth time (yes, really) with Britt and my bro.
Britt and I loved it all over again.
Brother hated it.
He sucks.

2.
I bought a car.
Yes, you already know that story, too.
But since I'm still in shock to the fact that I own a friggin' CAR, I'm retelling this story.
I have been driving a fair bit and I'm starting to feel really comfortable with it!

3.
I saw old-work friend Trang.
Um, I love her.
And I hadn't seen her since February when I left my old job.
Yep, it's been that long!
Anywho, one Monday afternoon I hopped on the train to visit her.
We had crepes.
It was delicious.
And so, so good to see her!

4.
My brother came home from Darwin.
We've been getting along... mostly.

5.
I had a three-hour Skype sesh with one of my Twitter Besties and Twi Twin, Kat!
It was SO friggin' awesome/crazy/amazing and not at all awkward.
We spoke as if we'd know each other for years, which I loved.
We love Kat. She is good people.

6.
I've been working on my little Polaroid Project!
It's going to look freakin' ahmayzing once it's done.

I actually took this photo myself; it's of my cat, Edward.

I bought some crap.

I got paid today and since I have been a very good little saver, I decided to reward myself!

I bought six headbands, a new top and a beret.

~~Okay, so I may have overdone it a little...~~

This one is probably my favourite; it's just so beautiful and looks quite vintage!

I may have to buy another to use in a giveaway...

The headbands were buy two, get one free so all up they averaged around $11 each.

I got the beret for $10 (I think it was marked half off) and the top was reduced by $6 to $19.

I also bought a cute dress on Saturday; the bottom is a thick cotton fabric with a vintage-esque floral print and black sleeveless top half.

My mum loved it so much I went back and bought her one today!

I saw a psychic... sort of.

She's a friend of my mum's friend.

Anyways, mum's friend came to stay with us and the three of us girls went to visit and have lunch (we've met her a few times and just love her).

We had a lovely lunch of garlic bread, fettuncine and ravioli and then she sat us down and told us some stuff she had Seen.

Now, I'm a big believer in all this sort of stuff.

And she had said stuff about me before and relayed it through mum in phone conversations but I had never witnessed this first hand.

She told me a lot; some good, some great, some really fucking frustrating and some horrible that made me cry.

And afterwards, I thought, "hmmm, good to know, but we'll see".

Now, this day I was waiting for the phone call about my car loan, to find out whether or not I had been approved for finance.

I had mentioned nothing of any of this to her and asked her the simple question, "do you See anything about me and driving?"

At first she thought I was worried about having an accident but I quickly dismissed this as not it.

She then proceeded to tell me that she Saw me buying a very new car.

Then she described my car to a T, right down to the fact that it was 4-door, hatchback, rounded, a darker red in colour and the fact that the rearview mirror was wide.

Fucking incredible.

I was so gobsmacked!

Anywho, as we all know, the future is subjective based upon the decisions you make.

It's pretty bloody freaky, though.

I mean, she said she could See my children and my wedding.

Anyways.

Now that we are, finally, all caught up and I have practically written a novel for you to read, I must head to bed because I am bloody exhausted.

Project Polaroid

Basically, I've been scouring the interwebs for photography.

Pretty pictures, cute sayings, the works.

From there I'm using a program to turn them into Polaroid look-a-likes.

The point?

I'm going to print them off, laminate them and string them up on my wall.

Yes, it's true.

I picked it out two weeks ago and today I finally picked it up.

Now, she looks quite pinkish here but her technical colour name is "Roma Red".

It's a 2010 Nissan Micra from their City Collection... it is completely marketed for women.

I mean, it has a friggin' shoe draw!!!

Anywho, now I need to think of a name... any suggestions?

Last night.

It was truly amazing.

I can happily eat my words and say that David Slade did an incredible job.

Yes, it did feel slightly rushed, and yes, things did happens out of sequence.

But it was still amazing.

I love, love, love Xavier Samuel as Riley.

He was seriously, seriously amazing.

Rob was WAY hotter in this one than New Moon.

No tweed seriousness!

And, I have to say, despite the fact that I am Team Edward, I absolutely loved Jake.

I'm not the type of person who can just have one favourite of something.

Indecisiveness?

Maybeh.

Anywho, today I'm going to share with you my favourite films.

The Notebook.

First off: if you've never seen this film, then ~~I'm pretty sure we can't be friends til you have~~ go see it now.

Trust.

It is the most beautiful, inspiring, romantic story ever.

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are sheer perfection as Noah and Allie.

And seriously, the lines?

*DEAD*

There is no film more romantic than The Notebook.

Love Actually.

This film is seriously hilarious.

I mean, no-one does a rom-com quite like the Brits and this certainly doesn't disappoint.

It has a stellar cast, and is well acted.

If you're sensitive to coarse language and nudity then this probably isn't for you, but believe me when I say you are missing out.

I first saw this film when I was 13 with my cousins and we had noooo idea it would involve anything like that.

Pretty sure a lot of people had the same thoughts as us, considering the theatre was 98% full of oldies.

Needless to say, less than 5 minutes in when Bill Nighy says "f*ck, wank, bugger, shitting, arse, head and hole", a LOT of people gasped.

Oh yeh, and I've watched this film so many times I can recite it pretty much line for line.

Watch it!

About A Boy.

I love this film.

It's funny and heartbreaking and lovely and real.

It's such a different type of film for Hugh Grant and he plays it so well.

And Nicholas Hoult is just wonderful.

This is truly a wonderful film, a definite must-see.

Notting Hill.

Sigh.

This film is so lovely.

The story is so sweet!

It's funny, beautiful, crazy and romantic.

It has some of the best lines and features on of my all-time favourite songs.

(When You Say Nothing At All by Ronan Keating. Srsly.)

If you have not seen it, you seriously must!

Wimbledon.

I love, love, love this film.

It's ridiculously sweet and romantic!

Paul Bettany is cute and British and uberly sweet.

What other reason do you need?!

Mean Girls.

Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried.

Add to that bitchiness, sarcasm and hilariousness.

Ahmayzing combo!

Seriously, what is not to love about this film?!

Baby Mama.

This film is EFFING.HILARIOUS.

If you've never seen it, you seriously MUST!!

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are ahmayzing.

And did I mention hilarious??

27 Dresses.

Very sweet film with a lovely storyline.

Fun, light-hearted and super romantic.

I adore Katherine Heigl and James Marsden is seriously delish.

And the ending? Yah.

Since I'm pretty much the most emotional person ever, I cried.

Because Jane got her happy ending.

Srsly.

Harry Potter.

Ahhh, my first literary love.

While the films (obvi) are nowhere near the insane awesomeness that is the books, the films are still good.

I still love them despite the fact that sometimes the eff stuff up.

And now that the final film has finished filming and the release of the first part of The Deathly Hallows fast approaches, everything feels like it's coming to and end.

If you've never read the books, do.

If books aren't your thing, at least see the films.

Twilight saga.

I mean, what else were you expecting me to say?

Once again, the books are better.

But I do love, love, love the films.

New Moon is my favourite so far (it's my fave book, too) and I'm getting seriously excited for Eclipse now!!

Thursday night I fainted.
At work.

On a cement floor.

Srsly.

Thank God my brain had just enough oxygen to register that I should sit and THEN faint so as not to hurt my face.

Good plan since pretty much as soon as I sat I swayed and fainted backwards.

I don't even know why I fainted.

I do, however, thank God no one saw me.
That was NOT awesome.

I saw The Backup Plan on Friday with Michelle.

Alex O'Loughlin's hotness damn near killed me.

That was awesome.

Sunday I went to brunch at my friend Kaley's house.

It was so much fun!

I really loved catching up with everyone and just chatting.

We also played what may be the most awesome game ever: Articulate.

That was awesome.

I may be going to Muse in December.

If I can get tickets.

This is awesome.

5.Today I worked.

And got hit on by some fucking creepy old dude.

He bought a lotto ticket (there's a big draw tomorrow night) and said something but I didn't hear him.

This is how it went down:

Him: Did you hear what I said?
Me: No...

Him: If I win I'm taking you out for a pie and a stubby. Does that get you excited?

Me: I don't like pies or beer.

Him: I haven't tol you where I'm taking you, though. Could you get some time off work?

Urgh.

While he smiled and laughed like he was joking, it was still fucking creepy.

Seriously Mr Geriatric, do you think I enjoy having an old dude hit on me?
Do you think that's something young girls enjoy?

Urgh. Why couldn't he have been a cute, sweet guy my age who hit on me but did NOT sound creepy?!?!

Then again, if it had been a young guy hitting on me, I probably would've been paranoid that he was just taking the piss out of me.

That little scenario was NOT awesome.

I'm booking Eclipse midnight screening tix this week for me, Amy and Jess.

10 Things: {Facts You May Not Know About Me Edition}

I sometimes have dreams where something happens that then happens in real life a few days later.

Example: I bought a liquid eyeliner and lost it not long after.

I searched everywhere in my room for it and couldn't find it.

A year later I had a dream it was in my floordrobe, which had not been there when I lost it.

(Obvi. I mean, that'd just be sicknast. A year-old floordrobe? Ew.)

The next morning I found it.

In my floordrobe.

I had a crush on the same boy from pre-school to grade 6.

Then one day he said something really nasty to me and I stopped liking him.

I was devastated.

I played netball for four years in a club, as well as at school.

I loved it.

When I was 15 I became really ill.

I contracted a heap of viruses and have never really recovered.

It took five weeks, numerous doctors visits, bloodtests and finally a visit to a physician for them to diagnose me with Cytomegalo Virus, which is similar to glandular fever.

There are no antibiotics so all I could do was rest.

After missing two weeks straight of school I knew it was serious.

I didn't get any better.

I was continually nauseated, dizzy, lethargic and my whole body would just ache constantly.

I suffered horrible headaches all day every day and some days I could barely get ot of bed.

I still didn't get any better and was eventually diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, something which the physician was very hesitant to do due to the stigma attached to it.

Over the years I have had a plethora of tests; CT scans, ultrasounds, bloodtests, you name it.

At one stage I was having fortnightly bloodtests and was tested for cancer more than once.

It was a very, very dark period of my life, and I'm pretty sure I was depressed, even though I vehemently denied it to everyone.

I missed a lot of school and became detached from my friends.

I had to complete my senior years across three years instead of the usual two.

It was really hard.

I'm much, much better now, however.

I still get tired easily and I get headaches everyday.

But honestly I mostly don't even realise I have one because I'm so used to them.

The only times I notice them is when they're particularly painful or hurt my eyes.

When I get a little tipsy I slip into a British accent.

I also cry when asked about Titanic or The Notebook.

There are videos somewhere . . .

I was once the lead in the school play written by my dance/choir teacher.

I have had baby names picked for my future children since I was about 14.

Some have changed but at least one has stayed the same.

I don't talk to my dad much.

It's horrible.

Sometimes I hate him and other days I just feel sad for him.

Plus he messes with my head.

Unintentionally, but nevertheless, it is frustrating.

Last year I went 8 months without seeing him.

Sometimes he won't phone me for weeks.

I refuse to call him.

As far as I'm concerned, he left.

He left this house where he could see and talk to me everyday.

His choice.

So, if he wants to talk to me, he has to make the effort.

I find cooking very, very therapeutic and relaxing.

I also don't cook as well if I don't have music to blast as I cook.

Cooking while singing and dancing around the house is pretty much my favourite thing.

I have deja vu often.

Like, sometimes more-than-once-a-day often.

It's Saturday and I actually have some free time, so I'm choosing to blog.

Yup, I've been MIA where legit blog posts are concerned.
Sadly, I feel like every time I do do a legit blog post, I start of with this type of apology.
I guess I wasn't expecting uni to take up so much of my time.
Anywho.
Uni is over for the semester, bar two exams, so I now have loads of free time on my hands.
Hopefully this will allowed me to blog more.
Hopefully this will allow me to do more stuff so I can blog more!
My life has been genuinely dull as of late.
I am sick of having no social life.
In other news, I am employed again!
Unfortunately it's at another newsagency.
Not ideal but they really needed someone and I really needed a job (and money).
Fate? I don't think so.
But I'm going to stick with it for now.
Ideally I want to find a job that I love so much to carry me through the next three and a half years.
You know, like a job at Diva . . .
But as I said, this will do for now.
Anywho. I will be blogging again in the very near future, I promise.

So The Holy Trinity (AKA Rob, Taylor and Kristen) were on Oprah this morning in the US.

Obvi, I'm not in the US so I had to rely on good old YouTube and the free wifi at uni.

Umm, it was ahmayzing.

I have been girlcrushing on Stewie for aaaages.

Now I love her even more.

Plus her hair looked amazing and I am totally coveting those killer heels.

Rob has been MIA for ages and, truthfully, despite finding him still to be sex on legs, my crush had waned a bit.

As part of my Literature unit for uni, I have to write a children's storybook.

I decided to write mine about my furry kids, Edward and Charlie.

Anywho, I decided to share it with you all.

Here goes!

Edward and Charlie

There once was a big, black cat named Edward. Edward had a thick, luxurious fur coat, big yellow eyes and giant cat paws. Edward lived with his two servants, Jayde and Jo, a little fluffy white dog named Selky, a big brown dog named Duke and a tall, scary boy with strange curly hair. Edward loved his house. His servants doted on him; they fed him his favourite type of tuna, provided him with lots of lovely lounges to scratch, gave him plenty of hugs and kisses (but only when he felt like it) and a multitude of places to sleep.

One day, Jo brought home a new cat named Charlie. Charlie was small, scrawny and skinny. He had grey and black striped fur and white socks on his feet. Charlie quickly made himself at home and Edward was most unhappy.

“Hi-hi! My name’s Charlie! What’s yours?” Charlie asked Edward.
“My name is Edward George (insert my last name here); and you, street cat, are living in my house now. Keep your grubby little paws off my servants and my furniture!” Edward replied.

This made Charlie so sad. He just wanted to be Edward’s friend. Charlie tried and tried everything he could think of to make Edward like him; he purred at him, he tried to play with him, he even tried to share his tuna, but nothing was working. Edward just hissed and sauntered away.

One day while Edward was napping on Jayde’s bed, Charlie jumped up and tried cuddling up next to Edward. Edward was not impressed and gave Charlie a most scathing look. “Okay, listen here, cat!” said Charlie. Edward glared back but didn’t say anything. “I am doing everything I can to be nice to you, Edward. Jo brought me home because my last servants were not very nice. I had to sleep under a house in a cardboard box! I am so grateful to have such a lovely place to live and I just want to be friends. Please, oh please won’t you be my friend?” Edward was saddened by Charlie’s story. “My previous servants weren’t very nice to me, either, Charlie. I guess we can be friends. You don’t seem too bad. Just keep your paws off my bed and we’ll get along fine. Oh and, well, I guess I should say sorry for being mean . . . sorry.” Charlie was so happy that Edward wanted to be his friend. “Oh, thank you Edward! We will be great friends, I just know it!”

After this, Edward and Charlie were inseparable. They hadn’t just become friends, they had become brothers.

My New Moon DVD Party: Recap! (with pics)

Yup, it's been a whole month since my New Moon DVD party went down.

And now that I have all the pics from the night, I can finally blog about it!!

Now some of you will have already seen these pics on my Facebook but there's a few of you who haven't.
SO here goes!

I found these ahmayzing HQ stills from the film online.

They were such high quality I was able to go get them printed off at Kmart as real, legit photos!

I had 32 photos in total and stuck them with small round stickers to a long piece of black ribbon and then strung them up in the walkways from the entry to the lounge, and from the lounge to the kitchen.

I also had 2 smaller ones over the TV and the window in the lounge.

I picked up two red lanterns and two clear lanterns from Sam's Warehouse for $2 each!

They looked really great; they gave a lovely glow to the room when we turned the lights off for the film.

The diamond-esque black and red beads I bought off eBay for a total of $15.98 for 1000 (500 of each colour) off eBay from Hong Kong.

They look so good and I scattered them all around the place.

They're so cute and really added to the decor and best thing is I just put them in a jar to save for my Eclipse DVD party!

I had two of the candles plates, one on the coffee table (above) and one on the dividends cabinet where the cupcakes were.

I also bought three little dog bowls for the cheap store, filled them with crackers, kabana and cheese cubes and labelled them "Jacob", "Sam" and "Paul".

On the dividends cabinet I had the chocolate cupcakes, each topped with a quote from the film.

I made them myself, inspired by version I had seen on Etsy.

I originnaly wanted to buy edible New Moon logos but as these would've worked out to $29 for 24, it was much, much, much cheaper to make my own.

It was very fiddly and time-consuming but they looked cute and it was fun when people recognised their quote in the film.

On the occassional table I had the "Face Punch" and a few decorations as well as some lollipops!

I decided last minute to put some pink carnations and tealight candles in a bowl of water.

It looked really pretty and reminded me of Bella's birthday in the film.

All the little red apples scattered around the place are actually foam.

I decided it would be a lot cheaper to have fake ones and also easier than having to find good-looking real ones.

I bought a half dozen off eBay from Hong Kong for $6.98 including postage!

I also got a great bargain with the posters I bought.

I had to buy two since they were double-sided (one side was the Cullens, the other the Wolf Pack) but as they were only $1 each I definitely didn't mind.

I also made this sign to hang on my front door.

My friend Kas also made this awesome punch!

Obvi, I cannot finish without talking about what I wore.

I got the dress off eBay (where else?! haha) for $21 including postage.

Only worn once.

I LOVE how the feathers look black but get a lovely greenish tinge in the light.

So pretty.

Winter is on its way!

Ahhh, winter.

My favey-fave season.

I love, love, love cold weather.

And I love winter in Brisbane because we're lucky that we get what seems to us as freezing weather but really it's pretty warm compared to a lot of places.

So we can still wear thinner layers and not look like stylish Michelin men.

Anywhoodle, lately the temps have started to drop, the air has been growing cooler and I've been able to break out the duvet and some bed socks (which I take off when I get into bed because I cannot stand wearing socks in bed) and, tonight, I brought out my scarf!

I'm also wanting to go and lay-by and nice pair of boots . . .

which will be my first ever pair!

Oh haiiiiii there bloggy people.

Yup, its's been almost TEN DAYS since I last blogged.

I'm pretty sure that's the longest I've ever gone without doing some sort of post.

Welp, I have been crazy busy.

I had my New Moon DVD party last Saturday night and it was awesome!!

Unfortunately, my camera batteries decided to die so I only managed to get a few photos so I had to rely on my friends to capture the night for me.

And only ONE has emailed me so far.

Mayjah sadface.

So I'm gonna hold off on that post until I can get all the pictures from the night.

Uni has been completely nuts.

I had a 20-minute group oral due today, I have a 1000 word in-class essay to write on Monday with a partner about friggin' water quality in the catchment area. Yup, I have no idea either how that helps be teach science to primary school kids either.

I also have a big essay due Wednesday and then another group oral next Friday. Both of those for child psych.

Fun, fun, fun!

Thank GOD after all this I get 6 whole weeks break.

I am counting down the days!

I also found some MAYJAH LOLs on a few awesome sites which I will post in the next few days.

As you all know, this year I started my first year of university (college).

Well, it has been a busy 6 weeks of the first semester.

Uni five days a week, four of which start at 8am.

I am NOT a morning person.

And because I have been so freakin' busy the blog has kinda been neglected with legit blog posts.

SO we're gonna do a quick pic catch up!

My Not-So-Uber Fab Life

At the moment my life is incredibly boring.

Hence the vast lack of legit blog posts.

Basically, I have been going to uni five days a week, trying not to procrastinate, swearing too much, listening music, struggling to find fabulous outfits to wear everyday (it's quite a task) and trying not to burn out.

I nap everyday.

Sometimes for four hours at a time.

My body is aching.

But unlike when I got ill in high school, I can't not turn up and still pass.

So I am doing my very best to keep going.

Thank God for Nanna Naps.

But, enough depressing stuff!

Despite the fact that I have a crap-load of assignments coming up, I am also very excited about a few events!

First up - my one-year Bloggiversary!

My 100th post should fall around then too.

I'm thinking maybs a giveaway buuuut it depends on funds.

Fingers crossed!

Second - the arrival of my New Moon DVD from the US.

Rest assured I will be watching the crap outta that thing to make up for the fact that I only saw it TWICE in the cinemas.

Yes, #FangirlFail.

Third - My New Moon DVD Party!

Squeeeee! It's less than three weeks away now so organising is definitely well under way.

I still have to iron out a few details and purchases but everything is pretty much set!
I have made it a red/black/white dress theme and I have purchased the most gorgeous black cocktail dress off of eBay for the bargain price of $21AUD including postage!

It's such a gorgeous dress and very slimming.

I shall be pairing it with my criss-cross-patterned stockings, red ballet flats and some cute gold/black/pearl jewellery.

I can't wait to have it and take pics to share with you all! :D

Fourth - my lovely friend Charlotte's birthday dinner!

I already have an outfit in mind and it's a month away.

Outfit planning is what I do best.

I have been a busy little bee on Polyvore too, so I will have to share some sets with you all in an upcoming post.

Sadly, just as I reached out to lock our front security door, the right strap on my dress just ripped!

I ended up having to tuck the top of the dress into my bra and holding it in place with a bobby pin.

Also, if you get a chance, go buy yourself Maybelline New York's Line Definer liquid eyeliner.

It's look using a magic marker to put on eyeliner, which is perfect if you're a bit of a spaz when it comes to putting on liquid eyeliner, like me!

Uni: Day 1

So I woke up at 5.30am.

It sucked.

Especially since I couldn't get to sleep until after 11pm and kept dreaming complete crap.

I did however manage to do my hair, pick an oufit and do my make up in 40 minutes without rushing.

This is good.

Here's what I decided to wear:

Excuse my face, for some reason it genuinely looks grotesque.

I blame the early hour of the day.

I ended up going up with the regular leggings/high-waisted skirt and the top I bought on sale from Forever New last year when I was in Melbourne.

I also wore my cute new pair of ballet flats with the ruffle on the front!

My first lecture was quite good.

It's for my children's literature unit and I can tell it's going to be a lot of fun!

After that I had two hours to kill before my tutorial so I jumped out the courtesy uni shuttle bus to the local shopping centre.

I bought this cuuuuuute green dress:

Stupid Blogger wouldn't load it horizontally, the way it was saved.

Anywho.

It's a really great cut and the colour looks great with my hair colour and skin tone!

I also bought these from Diva with the gift voucher friends gave me for my birthday:

This bow hair band is ridonkulously huge (TWSS!); it's kind of a cross between being inspired by Lady GaGa and Blair Waldorf.

I love it!

After shopping I headed back for a TWO-HOUR lecture.

It was CRAP.

It's a science unit about catchments.

I'm sorry, what the feck do creeks have to do with primary school teaching?!

It's stupid.

Buuuut at least I got an early mark.

And tomorrow I'll do it all over again.

Urgh.

That's right, I am finally heading off to uni after deferring last year.

Last Monday and Tuesday I had my orientation days.

Monday I was in a right state; I was teary and jittery!

Mum ended up taking the day off work because she was actually sick and she drove me there and then I started bawling in the car once I got there. Why? Crying is what I tend to do when I am majory stressed/freaked.nervous/scared sh*tless.

But when mum picked me up at 1pm she bought Krispy Kremes and flowers for me!

Tuesday was specifically for the education faculty - I'll be doing a Bachelor of Education: Early Childhood and Primary - and I was lucky enough to find the two girls I'd briefly met the day before to hang out with.

I also discovered the library, canteen (which is ridonkulously overpriced) and the free shuttle bus service to and from uni to the local shopping centre (helloooooo shopping trips between classes!).

And tomorrow will be my first official day, with my very first lecture at 8am and then a tutorial at 11pm.

Oh guess what I'm doing with the two hours I'll need to fill in between those classes? You guessed it: hitting the shops.

Unfortunately four days a week I have to start at 8am which means a bedtime of no later than 10pm to be up at 5.45am to catch the 6.45am bus.

In case you did not already know, I am NOT a morning person AT ALL.

I'm kinda excited to get it all started (the sooner I start, the sooner I finish) however I am very, very, very nervous about the workload and how independant I have to be with my study. I've never been good at being organised and managing my time well so I guess it will be a true test.

Plus it's something I'm going to need for when I'm teaching in classrooms.

So Wednesday February 10th was my 20th birthday.

That's right: I'm no longer a teenager!

On the other hand: I am absolutely, positively a bonafide adult.

Ew.

So my day started at 6.20am with my brother prodding my shoulder to wake me up.

I wanted to smack him in the face.

(I don't take kindly to being woken early)

After mum and Aaron headed off to work, I made myself some breakfast and waited for my Aunty to pick me up for my tattoo!

I love it.

Buuut it hurt.

A LOT.
And it is sooooooo itchy!
But that's a good sign :)

You know what else is cool? My Aunty got one too!

She got my cousin's - her son's - name tattooed on her back.

It looks soooo good!

After getting our ink (yes, I'm calling it "ink" - two tattoos makes me hardcore now *cough*), we went to the shops to wait for the bro to get off work and drank milkshakes!

When bro finished we had a look around the shops and then we went to Blockbuster, where I bought FOUR new DVDs.

Well, first season of Gossip Girl which was brand new and 3 ex-rentals: Adventureland, He's Just Not That Into You and Funny People.

I love ex-rentals.

After that we got some Subway for lunch (yummmmm) and I went home to nap!
After my nap I baked my birthday cupcakes!

They. Were. So. Good!

Birthday Night we had a BBQ with the fam because it was my nan's birthday too.
She made her rissoles which are my faaaaavourite food.
So.Delicious.

And I got such beautiful gifts for my birthday!
